Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is vital for developing and maintaining the skills and expertise of staff.
In order to equip library staffs with the skills needed to remain relevant, staff are expected to take part in CPD opportunties to:
Build knowledge of subject fields and subject collections in order to improve the quality of information services to staff and students;
Keep current on trends and developments in the LIS sector by reading professional literature, monitoring alerts and RSS feeds;
Engage in full range of staff development activities internally (i.e. HR, CIECT, LICT, departmental events) and externally (conferences and training workshops and webinars).
