Overview

The purpose of marketing and advocacy is to promote awareness of the University of the Western Cape (UWC) Library's services and resources. Marketing events focus on developing awareness among users of the library's initiatives, innovations and training programmes.

Activities of the Marketing section include planning annual events, preparing marketing resources such as brochures, posters and signage, online content for promotion on social media and maintenance of social media pages. The Library Marketing and Communications section also undertakes special projects.

A highlight of some of the events which the library is involved with:

  • New Student Library Orientation (First Year Experience (FYE));

  • Calendar of International Awareness days;

  • South African Library Week;

  • Open Access Week;

  • UWC Library Amazing Race;

  • UWC Open Day;

  • UWC Academic Week;

  • UWC Research Week; etc.
