The purpose of this service is to encourage Open Access publishing of University of the Western Cape (UWC) research, data and creative output. This service also provides support for journals, editors and managers, as well as authors. Authors are also assisted with identifying appropriate journals in which to publish their manuscripts. Support is also available for the development of new journals which includes journal registration, policy and website development, minting DOIs and publishing.

Open Access Journals at UWC

The library hosts and helps manage and publish a number of Open Access journals, including: the Journal of Entrepreneurial Innovations (JEI); Kronos: Southern African Histories (DHET Accredited); Journal of Vocational, Adult and Continuing Education and Training (JOVACET) (DHET Accredited); African Human Mobility Review (AHMR) (DHET Accredited); WritingThreeSixty: Journal of Research and Creative Texts, Critical Studies in Teaching and Learning (CriSTaL) (DHET Accredited). Other journals at UWC include Law, Democracy & Development, the Journal of Anti-Corruption Law, the Journal of Community & Health Sciences and Multilingual Margins.
