Research Tools

The University of the Western Cape (UWC) Library subscribes to various research tools, such as SAGE Research Methods, Covidence and BrowZine. These facilitate initiating and completing research projects. The tools have collaborative features allowing UWC researchers to collaborate with external partners.

SAGE Research Methods is a platform designed to support the teaching and learning of research methodology. Hundreds of articles on qualitative and quantitative methods, including interactive tools such as the Methods Map and Project Plan, are available to support the research process.

Covidence is a systematic review web-based tool that simplifies the process of screening references, data extraction, and keeping track of workflows. It is particularly useful for researchers conducting a systematic review, meta-analysis or clinical guideline.

BrowZine is a free web or mobile application from Third Iron that allows users to browse, read, and monitor journals available through the UWC Library. BrowZine is a user-friendly application that allows easy access of full text articles and navigation of personalised collections, bookshelves, alerts and the reading of downloaded articles offline.
